The driving idea of this project is to offer design criteria to obtain new molecular memristive materials with key improvements in terms of energy requirements, tunability, size, fabrication and processability by using molecular models and dimensionality control. Our group is included in the Institute for Molecular Science whose objectives match perfectly with those that will be developed in the applicant project:
- The design, chemical synthesis and processing of functional molecules, supramolecular assemblies and molecular-based materials exhibiting useful physical or chemical properties
- The study of these properties using experimental as well as theoretical (quantum) techniques
- The investigation of the potential applications of these molecules and materials in different areas of current interest such as molecular magnetism, molecular electronics, molecular sensing, catalysis or photochemistry.
